Karan Johar announces new long-term partnership with Netflix

Delhi: Who here doesn’t know the famous B-Town director and filmmaker Karan Johar? I’m sure everyone does. Well, in a surprising turn of events, Netflix on September 11 announced a long-term partnership with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

It seems that the Netflix members are in for a treat as Netflix and Dharmatic productions will now together embark upon a journey to create a broad range of new fiction and non-fiction films and series.

Karan Johar has a proven record for narrating stories that resonate very well with the audience. The duo first worked together in 2018 on the much-loved Lust Stories. Johar is also currently involved with two other series as a director – Ghost Stories and Guilty. Well, now it only seems fair that Netflix has decided to form a long-term relationship with Johar.

“I am incredibly excited about our partnership with Karan Johar – one of India’s greatest modern storytellers. Johar and Dharmatic Entertainment will have all the creative freedom and support to create pioneering dramas and unscripted series as well as films for our members all over the world,” said Bela Bajaria, VP, International Originals, Netflix.

Karan Johar also expressed his delight of being a part of this long-term relationship. “So excited about our exclusive collaboration with NETFLIX! We are creatively aligned to produce original feature films and series (fiction and nonfiction) on this diverse platform.... may the power of supreme content always be with us!” he said.

He also took to Instagram to announce about the new venture.
