Karlapalem VRO abusing, harassing us: Secretariat's women employees protest

Guntur, April 23: The women employees of Karlapalem village secretariat staged a protest against the Village Revenue Officer D. John Victor Kumar for abusing and harassing the women employees at Karlapalem in Guntur district.
The women employees, B. Sowndarya (woman police) and E. Brahmaramba Devi (Village Agriculture Assistant) lodged a complaint with the Mandal Parishad Development Officer, T. Usha Rani demanding suspension of VRO John Victor Kumar.
When the two women employees were inspecting the distribution of rice to beneficiaries during COVID-19 lockdown at Karlapalem, Victor John Kumar abused and harassed the women employees on April 19.
The VRO also claimed he has the support of political leaders and officials and no one can act against him.
In the past also, some women employees had quit their job due to mental and sexual harassment from John Victor.
“We can't work with the idiot VRO and are requesting the officials to suspend the VRO for his harassment and misbehaviour with women employees. If the officials fail to initiate action against him, we will not attend the duties,” said the victims Sowndarya and Brahmarambha Devi
The MPDO, Usha Rani has assured that she will take steps to protect the women employees.
