KCR to gift silver Charminar filigree to Trump, Pochampally silk saris to Melania, Ivanka

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will present a silver filigree Charminar and Pochampally shawl to US President Donald Trump when he attends the dinner being hosted by President Ramnath Kovind at Rastrapathi Bhavan on 25 February.
The replicas of the iconic Charminar, manufactured in Karimnagar, weighs 4 kgs and is 2.5 feet tall. KCR will also present Pochampally, Gadwal silk saris to the First Lady Melania Trump and daughter Ivanka Trump.
KCR is one of the few Chief Ministers who got an invite from the President to attend the dinner being hosted in honour of the US President. He will leave for Delhi by a special flight from Begumpet airport on Tuesday and will reach Rastrapathi Bhavan by 6 p.m to attend the dinner at around 7.30 p.m.
Karimnagar silver filigree has earned a unique place in the world because no two filigrees are the same. Each is distinct in its own way, each an elegant masterpiece displaying the incredible craftsmanship and the close attention to detail that goes into creating it. The art is confined not only to jewelry but also to other household articles like tea-trays, ornament containers, key chains, and even cigarette boxes.
After attending, the banquet KCR will return to Hyderabad on Wednesday.
