KIA to invest another 54 million dollars in Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati: Kia Motors Corporation, a South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Seoul, has decided to invest an additional sum of 54 million US dollars on the company's expansion in Andhra Pradesh, above what was already promised .

The announcement was made on Thursday by KIA India CEO Kookhyun Shim, at the AP government's flagship programme, ' Mana Paalana, Mee Soochana' on industries,

The investment will be focused on manufacturing SUVs in the state.

Belittling all the rumours spread by certain section of the media and the opposition in the state, the KIA India CEO went one step further to say that ' KIA is all set to become a model for foreign investors and investments coming to AP'.

He further said that 85% of the employment opportunities created by the company are presently catering to people of Andhra Pradesh. The CEO said this is furthering Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s vision of generating employment via investments.
