Kishan Reddy seeks probe into Kodela’s death

Hyderabad : Mr G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of State for Home, has sought a comprehensive investigation into the sudden death of Kodela Sivaprasada Rao. He said that he would ask for a report on the death of the former Andhra Pradesh Speaker.

"I'll ask for a comprehensive report on the sudden death of Kodela Sivaprasada Rao from DGP and the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh. Such a bad incident should not take place for any family," said Mr Reddy.

Responding to the ban on selected TV channels, Mr Reddy said that it was against democracy. “Freedom of the media should be ensured in a democratic country like India. I demand Andhra Pradesh government to immediately lift the ban on ABN Andhra Jyothi, TV-5 channels,” he added.

Condemning the Congress party’s statement on Uranium mining, Mr Reddy terms them as baseless allegations against the BJP. Speaking on the occasion of Hyderbad Liberation Day here on Tuesday, Mr Reddy expressed his gratitude to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. the Nizams-ruled Hyderabad state was merged with the Indian Union on September 17, 1948.

“The freedom fighter and then Union Home Minister Patel prevented another Kashmir-like situation in Hyderabad state.” Mr Reddy paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Before addressing on occasion, he paid homage to the martyrs, who fought for the liberation of Hyderabad state.

People of Hyderabad state got freedom 13 months later, India became an independent country. Further, Mr Reddy demanded the TRS government to celebrate September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day officially.

“The BJP has been demanding for an official celebration of Hyderabad Liberation Day. But, the TRS government not listening to this demand as it's under the influence of AIMIM,” he said.
