Kodela’s suicide: YSRCP makes counter-attack on TDP

Amaravati: Turning the tables sharply, the ruling party YSRCP held Mr N Chandrababu Naidu responsible for the suicide of the former Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao. The YSRCP further criticized Mr Naidu as he humiliated late Kodela on many occasions. The YSRCP has brushed aside the remarks that the state had any role in the episode.

Meanwhile, the former Chief Minister Mr Naidu has demanded for a CBI investigation into the sudden death of Kodela Sivaprasada Rao.

“It was Mr Chandrababu Naidu who had humiliated the former Speaker by not giving him due respect in the TDP. Naidu always encourages rival groups in party activities and not responding to phone calls of Kodela. This disparity had driven Kodela to take such an extreme step. If the Police collects his call data , the reason for his death will come to light,” said YSRCP Minister Kodali Nani.

“The sudden death of Kodela is a shock to me. Kodela was known as Palnadu Tiger. Petty cases filed against him. It's political vendetta of YSRCP. I demand a CBI investigation into the sudden death of Kodela. Kodela's letters to the YSRCP government clearly stated that he was willing to pay for the office furniture,” said Mr Naidu.

Speaking with the media here on Tuesday, the State Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Nani along with Chief Whip G Srikanth Reddy and PAC member and MLA Ambati Rambabu, said: “Mr Chandrababu Naidu became silent immediately after hearing the news. Naidu came to public only after Police said there was no suicide note (dying declaration). Naidu felt relaxed as his name was not included in the suicide note. Then he started playing with sentiments and whipping up passions blaming the state and has been carrying out a sustained campaign against the government levelling baseless allegations by pumping in the same data through dedicated media and a handful of spokespersons.”

Chandrababu Naidu had organized a camp for YSRCP victims of Palanadu. Mr Naidu didn't include Kodela Prasada Rao in the camp. This makes it clear that the question of victimization does not arise. If Kodela was haunted, as claimed by TDP, then why he was not there in the Chalo Atmakuru camp, they asked.

Late Kodela was never given his due place in the Party events. Moreover, Mr Chandrababu Naidu did not meet Kodela Siva Prasada Rao in the hospital. Kodela was admitted in the hospital after a failed suicide attempt recently. Rubbing salt to the injury was that Chandrababu Naidu came to the same town to address a meeting, said the YSCRP leaders.
