KTR orders GHMC to inspect hospitals in light of fire incident

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao directed GHMC to inspect the fire safety arrangements undertaken at all private hospitals in the city. This direction comes in the wake of the harrowing fire mishap at Shine Children's hospital at LB Nagar, which killed an infant.

The municipality is likely to take up this robust move in the coming week. Hospitals failing safety norms will be issued notice.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Etela Rajender has directed the health department to submit a report on the Shine Hospital incident within 24 hours. Additional Director of Health Ravindra Naik has been appointed as the inquiry officer on the incident.
