Kuppam police targeting people for anti-YSRCP social media post: Naidu

Kuppam: Former Chief Minister and President of Telugu Desam Party N Chandrababu Naidu has accused a sub-inspector of Rallabuduguru Police station of targeting a certain set of people. Naidu represents Kuppam Assembly constituency since the last three decades.

In a representation to the district police, TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu explained, " Sub-Inspector Murali Mohan has threatened one Ms. Sravani from Thumisi village over phone for posting against the ruling YSRCP on social media

platform. In another instance, on 25th August 2020 at around 10 PM the police under SI Murali Mohan have conducted recce of B. Ravi Kumar’s house in G.Settipalli village of Santhipuram Mandal. The man (Ravi Kumar) was

arrested on 26th August 2020 for his social media post".

He further adds, Sub Inspector Murali Mohan has filed FIR (crime no. 310/2020) on 22nd August 2020 under Sections 153(a), 505(2) and Section 67 of IT Act. In the recent times, a section of police are conniving with the ruling YSRCP leaders and threatening and harassing general public and sympathisers of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the name

of social media posts".

Naidu has accused the cops of targeting any one who expressed dissent on social media against the ruling party and arrest being made during dark hours.

"I am afraid that the peace and tranquillity in Kuppam are under serious threat as some police are shedding their

responsibilities and siding with the ruling party leaders". I appeal to you to take stringent action against the concerned SI, Mr. Murali Mohan for threatening Ms. Sravani over phone and filing illegal case against Sri B. Ravi

Kumar and detaining him there after" Naidu said.
