Laser and flower show top Visakha Utsav celebrations

Visakhapatnam: The flower show coupled with a breathtaking laser show, carnival, folk and cultural events were the main attractions when the Visakha Utsav got going here on Saturday. It evoked tremendous response with thousands of crowds watching the spectacle. The RK Beach Road stretch looked like a sea of smiling faces.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy formally inaugurated the two-day Visakha Utsav-2019, the biggest tourism festival in Andhra Pradesh, by launching the laser show at RK Beach stretch amidst lusty cheers.
The flower show at YSR Central Park was the major attraction. VMRDA spent over Rs 60 lakh for the flower show.
The visitors of all age-groups thronged and were captivated by the fragrance and beauty of flowers, which were procured from all over the world.
The collection of a wide variety of flowers, vegetable and fruit carving, dry and cut flowers of different appearances, collection of roses, especially the Bonsai varieties were other attractions.
The Laser show also displayed the Navaratnalu welfare programmes of YSR Congress Party.
On the other side, cultural programmes organised at the RK Beach, VUDA Park and few other places enthralled the audience and among other events, classical, folk, fusion and western dances, mimicry, magic shows, dance ballets and comedy shows stood out.
Food stalls offered the authentic Andhra dishes, including the traditional bamboo chicken, Madugula Halwa, Kakinada Kaja and few others.
Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan will be participating in the conclusion programme of Visakha Utsav on Sunday.
