Lecturers Association President arrested by ACB

Hyderabad: Telangana President of the Junior Lecturers’ Association P Madhusudhan Reddy who is accused of amassing wealth through illegal means was arrested by the Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday. He was produced before the special court hearing ACB cases. The court remanded him to judicial custody till October 19.

On Friday, searches were conducted at Reddy's residences in the city and also at the residences of his relatives at Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool and Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. During the searches, officials found that he was undervalued the actual values of the assets and paid fewer registration fees for them.

Reddy also amassed assets in the name of his relatives. Accused of question paper leakage of Intermediate in the past, Reddy has collected vast amounts from lecturers for arranging transfers to their desired locations.

ACB officials said they would seek his custody to further interrogate him on the disproportionate assets he has amassed in his name.
