List of 24 fraudulent universities in India: UGC

New Delhi: The Union Minister of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank in the Parliament said that UGC has identified 24 fake universities.

“Based on the complaints received from students, parents, general public and also through electronic and print media, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the list of 24 so-called universities which are offering degree programmes without recognition under Section 2(f) and Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.”

The Union Minister of Education also said that out of these 24 so-called universities, three had been identified in the last three years.
