Kavya on her way to bank exam gets crushed by bus

Hyderabad: G. Malla Kavya, along with her brother Sai Charan were on their way to Alwal to give a bank exam on November 2. Little did her brother know that this would be his last ride with Kavya. While they were on their way, Sai Charan tried to overtake a bus at Nalgonda crossroads. However, he failed to notice an autorickshaw parked along the roadside. As a result, he was forced to apply brakes few metres away which happened to be on ground filled with loose gravel. Subsequently, applying brakes on the gravel had led to the bike skidding which resulted in their fall, and Kavya was run over by the bus.

The 23 year-old woman died on the spot immediately as she got crushed beneath the very same bus they had tried to overtake. The incident happened in front of Suprabhat hotel near Nalgonda crossroads. The brother, who was riding the bike, had a hair-breadth escape and is currently undergoing treatment for the injuries.

Footage from a nearby CCTV camera showed how the bike had skidded and left both of them on the road. The visuals also show an autorickshaw on the left, which the driver was probably trying to avoid while overtaking. However, the loose gravel present on the road caused the dreadful incident.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the driver of the bus by Chaderghat police.
