Lured with snacks, 19 YO allegedly rapes 3YO in Vizag Agency

Visakhapatnam :Shock, anger, and outrage have gripped Vizag Agency after a 19- year-old youth allegedly raped a three-year-old girl in a village under Pedabayalu Mandal on Tuesday evening.
Police said the incident took place on Tuesday evening. But, it came to light on Wednesday evening when the parents of the victim lodged a complaint against the accused.
Sub-Inspector of Pedabayalu police station P Raja Rao said the accused KR Kumar lured the girl by offering some snacks and took her to an isolated place where he allegedly raped her. Later, he dropped the girl near her home on Tuesday evening. The accused is the neighbor of the girl.
When the girl returned to her house around 6 pm, her parents noticed some bloodstains. They shifted her to the Primary Health Center at Pedabayalu on Tuesday night.
Though few people suspected the role of Kumar, he pleaded innocence.
On Wednesday, village elders held a Panchayat. Few people testified that they saw Kumar taking the girl to an isolated place. Finally, Kumar confessed to the crime. However, he managed to escape from the village suspecting punishment from the village elders.
Police have registered a case against the accused under Section 376 of IPC and other sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. A special team has been formed to nab the accused.
It may be recalled that Vizag city reported three incidents of rape this month so far.
