Man harasses ex-colleague with fake WhatsApp account, posts derogatory texts

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda cyber crime police, on 11 June, arrested a 23-year-old graphic designer from Kadapa district for creating a fake WhatsApp account in the name of a former colleague and sending derogatory and objectionable text messages to her friends and relatives.

Nadhindla Rohit Aryan, from Jammalamadugu town in Kadapa district, got acquainted with the woman while working at APPMAJIX in Panjagutta, Hyderabad, in 2017. Soon their acquaintance turned into a friendship. However, differences cropped up between the two in the last six months.

The woman stopped responding to Aryan's calls which did not sit well with the latter. He then created a fake WhatsApp account using the victim's phone number and email ID and sent vulgar and derogatory messages to her friends and family members.

Based on the victim's complaint, the Rachakonda police registered a case and arrested Aryan.
