Bhadradri Kothagudem: A tiff between two neighbors over a pet dog claimed the life of a man at Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana.

Identified as Padam Jogulu, he received a head injury and died en route to the hospital, police said.

Sources said the incident occurred when the dog was beaten by the wife of neighbor K Veeraswamy when it entered into her home on Monday evening. As the dog came out barking, Jogulu and his wife picked up a quarrel with Veeraswamy’s wife.

Police have registered a case against Veeraswamy and started investigation.

According to police, the families reside at Mulakapalli Mandal and have been very close in the past. But as Jogulu’s pet would roam in and around Veeraswamy’s house, they raised objections. Jogulu however urged neighbor to ignore.

This led to frequent altercations between the two families. On Monday evening, when the dog entered Veeraswamy's house, his wife beat and chased it out. Seeing the dog running out, the couple grew furious and charged at Veeraswamy’s wife.

When Veeraswamy returned home at night, his wife informed him about the incident. They went to Jogulu's house and attacked them with sticks. Neighbors immediately rushed and tried to pacify the families.

However, Jogulu received an injury on the head and collapsed. He was first shifted to the area hospital and later to Warangal. However, en route, he succumbed.
