Man stabs woman inside RTC bus in Afzalgunj, flees

Hyderabad: A woman sustained serious wounds when she was allegedly stabbed by an unidentified traveler on a TSRTC bus at Afzalgunj in Hyderabad on late Sunday night.

The woman has been shifted to Osmania hospital, where her condition is stated to be serious.

According to police, the victim and the accused boarded the Afzalgunj bound RTC bus at Secunderabad railway station. An argument broke out on board between the two which took a violent turn when the woman slapped the accused with her slipper.

Seemingly enraged by her action, the man pulled out his knife and stabbed her repeatedly. Since it was late in the night, there were not many passengers on the bus. However, by the time the conductor tired to come to her rescue, the accused jumped off from the moving bus and fled.

According to sources, the victim has been admitted to the emergency unit and is being under observation. Since she is not able to speak, her details are yet to be ascertained.

Afzalgunj police also registered an attempt to murder case and started investigation. They have deployed special teams to nab the absconder.
