Man throws acid on wife and minor daughter in Vizag, victims incurred minor burn injuries

Visakhapatnam: A woman and her minor daughter suffered injuries in an acid attack after her husband threw acid. The victims are the resident of Sivajipalem under MVP Colony police station limits in Vizag city.

The victims were identified as T Devi, 28 and her 12 years old daughter. Both the victims incurred minor burn injuries. The accused T Eswar Rao threw low concentrated acid used for cleaning of bathrooms on the victims.

After the investigation, the police said that the accused Eswar Rao is eking livelihood by engaging in painting works. Rao has been suffering from drinking issue and used to harass his wife.

Suspecting the fidelity of his wife, Rao on Saturday threw acid on Devi. In an attempt to save her mother from the acid attack, Devi's daughter Gayatri also suffered injuries.

The police shifted the victims to KG Hospital in Vizag city. The condition of both victims is stable.

The police have registered a case, and an investigation is going on to nab the accused person.

It may be recalled that a year ago a young woman reportedly suffered 40 per cent burns in the acid attack at Gajuwaka in Vizag city.

Though the victim hails from Gajuwaka, she resides in Hyderabad with her husband, who works in a jewellery shop. The police said the woman got married about two years ago. Differences cropped up between the couple with the husband suspecting that she was having an extra-marital affair with her acquaintance in Vizag.
