Manikonda techie tests positive for COVID, after his return from AP

Hyderabad: A techie working with a Swiss-based Pharmaceutical company has tested positive for COVID 19 at Manikonda in Hyderabad.

While he has been shifted to the isolation ward at Gandhi hospital, his wife, 38, daughter, 8, domestic help and a few others have been shifted to a quarantine facility.

His flat located in a posh apartment at Manikonda near Lanco Hills has been declared a containment area. Residents of ten other flats in the apartment have also been advised to remain under home quarantine. This is the first COVID case in this area.

Hailing from East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, the techie has been residing at Manikonda for the past few years along with his family. His office is located in Hi-tech city.

Last week, the family had traveled to Andhra Pradesh to attend the final rites of his uncle. Soon after his return on Friday, he developed COVID like symptoms and approached a private hospital. His samples were collected and sent to Gandhi hospital. On Sunday, his reports came back positive.

Meanwhile, his colleagues have also been advised to follow precautions and seek medical help if they notice any symptoms.
