Delhi: Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi met P. Chidambaram in Tihar jail on Monday.
The former Finance Minister is currently in Tihar Jail, under judicial custody, in connection with the corruption in the INX media case, in which his son Karti is also named.
Congress meanwhile have extended their support to Chidambaram throughout and have maintained the stance that his arrest is a result of "political vendetta."
Last week also, senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel visited Chidambaram in Tihar.
The former Home Minister, through his lawyers, filed a bail application in the Delhi High Court which will be heard today.
CBI, while opposing Chidambaram's application in the last hearing, said that granting bail will be "against the zero-tolerance policy on corruption."
