Hyderabad: The owner of Meal Max, a popular eatery at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad, and his wife have been arrested on the charge of assaulting cops, including a policewoman, inside the Banjara police station.

Accused Atluri Suresh has a police complaint against him for allegedly not returning money taken from a friend. He and his wife Pravija were called to the police station as part of the inquiry.

In the middle of the questioning at the inspector's chamber, sources said, the couple began screaming, kicking up a ruckus and hurling abuses at the cops.

To ensure that other visitors were not inconvenienced, the cops took the couple to the Detective Inspector's room on the first floor. But Suresh and Pravija got more infuriated. They assaulted the cops, including a policewoman.

Meanwhile, a video clip of the couple purportedly saying that they were assaulted at the Banjara Hills police station has gone viral on social media. The couple goes on to claim the cops sexually harassed Pravija. "Without acting on our complaint, the police registered a false case against us and are harassing us," says the couple in the clip.
