Mega donations pour in for KCR; MEIL gives 5Cr

Hyderabad: Several prominent personalities have hailed the efforts taken by the Telangana government to prevent the spread of Corona virus in the state and made generous donations to support the government's initiatives.

Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Company Limited (MEIL) has donated Rs. 5 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF). The company's MD, P.V Krishna Reddy, handed a cheque for the same to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan. Shanta Biotech promoter K.E Prasada Reddy also met KCR at Pragathi Bhavan here on Wednesday and handed a cheque of Rs. 1 crore towards the CMRF.

Meanwhile, the owner of KNR Constructions, Kamidi Narasimha Reddy, donated Rs. 1 crore and Laurus Labs CEO,

Dr Satyanarayana, and ED Chandrakanth Chereddy gave KCR a cheque for Rs. 50 lakh and also announced that they would give one lakh hydroxychloroquine tablets. KCR thanked all the donors and said their contributions will support the initiatives taken by the government and also inspire the official machinery.

Hyderabad-based Meenakshi Group donated Rs. 1 crore to the CMRF. The group's chairman, K.S Rao, and MD C. Sivaji handed over the cheque to state IT minister K.T Rama Rao at Pragathi Bhavan. GPK Exports and Imports, meanwhile, donated 4,000 N95 masks for the use of government doctors. Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) also donated Rs. 1 crore to the CM’s Relief Fund. CREDAI representatives handed over the cheque to KTR.
