‘Mind your tongue’: Akbaruddin Owaisi tells Telangana minister Talasani Srinivas

Hyderabad: “I warn you TRS people, mind your tongue. If not, my tongue will start speaking,” said Akbaruddin Owaisi, referring to the comment made by Telangana minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav.

Earlier on January 18, the minister for Animal Husbandry, Talasani Srinivas Yadav had called All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) as a political party whose share was limited to the Old City in Hyderabad. The TRS minister also added that the TRS had no seat sharing agreement with the MIM in the municipal polls.

Reacting to this comment by the TRS minister, Akbaruddin Owaisi said, “KCR, KTR, advise your people (referring to ministers from TRS). These politicians keep shifting their parties. I am warning you: if you speak, I will also speak.”

Speaking at an event in Tandur, in Vikarabad district, the Chandrayangutta MLA said, “I have seen many people come and go. There is a minister in Secunderabad who said the AIMIM is an Old City party. Don’t think too big of yourself. He hasn’t even been able to make his son win in the elections. He just has an experience of 2-3 elections and that too, he wins in one election, and loses in two.”

The five-term elected MLA went on to say, “Look at me, I have won five times from my constituency. If you have the courage, contest from there. If I wanted, I could contest from any part of India, but my heart lies with Chandrayangutta.”

The TRS minister, Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Saturday had alleged that there were false social media campaigns that said that the TRS political party had offered Tandur Municipality tickets to its ally AIMIM. The minister was refuting this claim and had clarified that TRS has no alliance with AIMIM anywhere for the municipal elections.

The Telangana Municipal Elections will be conducted on January 22.
