Minor girl raped by class X dropout in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: An 8-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 16-year-old boy at Prahladhapuram area under Pendurthi police station limits in Visakhapatnam. The incident took place on Wednesday night, but came to light on Saturday only after the victim’s parents approached the police.
The girl is a Class-III student while the accused is a Class-X pass out. The accused lives in the neighbourhood of the victim.
On the evening of September 4, the girl went for tuitions in her colony. When she did not return home, the girl’s father went to the tuition centre searching for her. Not finding her there he searched for her at different places. Finally, the girl’s father found her in the boy’s house and was shocked to find her undressed.
The inspector of Pendurthi police station S. Satyanarayanan said, “Based on a complaint from the girl’s parents, we have registered a case against the minor boy and have taken him into custody. The girl’s medical examination was conducted on Saturday.”
