Missing Hyderabad mans body found dumped in a gunny bag

Hyderabad: The body of a 55-year-old trader from Borabanda was found inside a locked house at Jubilee Hills on the night of 4 February. Ramesh’s body was found packed in a gunny bag and dumped in one of the rooms of the house.

Ramesh's family had lodged a missing complaint with SR Nagar police station after he went missing on Saturday. The family members said some unknown persons claimed they had kidnapped Ramesh and demanded Rs 90 lakh ransom for his release. Ramesh’s brother said they had no enmity with anyone. “The kidnappers demanded that we deliver the ransom today morning and we had agreed to that. Even now they told me that my brother was alive,” he said.

DCP West Zone A.R Srinivas and other senior officials also visited the spot and talked to Ramesh’s family members. Special teams have already been deputed to arrest the offenders. Further investigation is underway.

Ramesh started his career as a fish trader and later entered the liquor business. He owns two wine shops in the city.

Jubilee Hills police rushed to the spot along with a forensic team and a dog squad. Police said they have registered a case and started an investigation. Initial inquiries revealed that a man, Srinivas, had recently rented the house. He had paid the rent and left the home two days ago. The house owner had not seen him in the last two days and the house had been locked. Police suspect his role in Ramesh’s murder.

It was also found that Ramesh left his home on Saturday after receiving a call from an unknown woman. He had been missing since then. Later at night, his mobile was switched off, forcing his family to approach the police.
