Molestation case against BJYM Youth leader Ashish Goud, dropped

Hyderabad: The case of alleged ‘outraging modesty’ of a woman booked against BJYM leader Abhishek Goud, who is the son of senior BJP leader Nandeeswar Goud, has been dropped as the victim has withdrawn the complaint.

Cyberabad police had on November 30 booked the case against Abhishek Goud, who was accused of molesting a model and Bigg Boss Telugu -2 reality show contestant at a night club. Incidentally, a few hours earlier on the same day, he had participated in a protest meeting demanding justice for gang-rape victim, Disha.

According to the complainant, the molestation happened at Artistry Pub in Novotel Hotel in Madhapur. The Cyberabad police, acting upon the complaint, booked a case under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, a month after the case was booked, Ashish Goud, who was expelled from the party, is back in the thick of BJYM affairs following the latest development.

He said, “I would like to inform everyone that the case filed against me has been withdrawn by the complainant after both sides talked and understood what really happened that night and how some vested interests gave an obnoxious twist to defame my image”.

In an apologetic message, he said ‘a small misunderstanding between two individuals was used and projected as a fight. I am happy that truth has come out after due verification. I respect the complainant for swearing by the rule of law and having dropped the complaint’.
