Municipal Councillor misbehaves with Aasha health volunteers, arrested in Nirmal

Hyderabad: A Municipal Councillor has been arrested by police in Nirmal district on Saturday, on charges of allegedly misbehaving with Aasha health volunteers. The accused Zaheer had allegedly obstructed the health workers who were conducting survey to identify people with symptoms.

According to sources, on Saturday a group of health workers were conducting a survey at Khabutar kaman area in Nirmal town. As they were collecting details of people from every house, local councilor Zaheer rushed to the place and picked up an argument with the health workers. Further as they tried to explain to him the purpose of their visit and they were assigned by the government for the works, he misbehaved with them and forcefully snatched documents from their hands and tore them.

He further behaved unruly with them, forcing the health workers to stop their works abruptly. Later the health workers protested and approached police.

Police immediately acting on the issue, registered a complaint against Zaheer and arrested him. Further investigation is underway.
