Murshidabad triple murder: Police detain two, says no political involvment in case

Kolkata: In another development in the horrific triple murder case in West Bengal's Murshidabad area, the local police have detained two persons in connection with the murder and have ruled out any political involvement in this case.

The development comes days after a 35-year-old teacher Bandhu Prakash Pal, a primary school teacher, his wife Beauty who was eight months pregnant and son Angan were found lying in a pool of blood at their residence in Jiaganj.

According to police officials, "Murder of three members of a family of Kanaiganj, Jiaganj PS in Murshidabad is a sad incident. The investigation was started just after the incident and two persons have been detained and are being examined.

"It has so far been found in the investigation that the deceased person was also working as an agent of some insurance & chain companies and was in a serious financial crisis. His family members have denied affiliation with any political group," the statement from police read.

The gruesome murder of Bandhu along with his wife and children has taken a political colour with RSS claiming the deceased (Bandhu) to be one of their Karyakartas (worker) while BJP going all guns blazing against the Mamata Banerjee government over the law & order situation in Bengal.

However, the police officials while denying any role of political intervention said, "A diary note found is suggesting some serious differences in the family. CID has now been asked to get associated with the investigation. Prima facie it seems to be a case of personal enmity and it has nothing to do with politics."
