Must attract and not force PoK residents to join India: J&K Governor

Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik mentioned that we must attract people from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) to join India with the development in J&K and not force them instead. He also took a dig at ministers who said that the next target of the BJP government was PoK. ā€œWe must develop Kashmir so that people of PoK will be attracted to join Jammu and Kashmir,ā€ he said.

He noted that there are thousands of Kashmiri students studying in different states and they should be given special treatment. ā€œKashmiris should be treated with love and respect,ā€ he said.

The Governor also said that his government ended the Roshni Act, which aimed to regularise state land that was encroached by people, in Jammu and Kashmir. ā€œIt has proved to be a 25,000-crore scam. The case has been given to Anti-Corruption Bureau for investigation,ā€ Malik said.
