Must attract and not force PoK residents to join India: J&K Governor

Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik mentioned that we must attract people from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) to join India with the development in J&K and not force them instead. He also took a dig at ministers who said that the next target of the BJP government was PoK. “We must develop Kashmir so that people of PoK will be attracted to join Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

He noted that there are thousands of Kashmiri students studying in different states and they should be given special treatment. “Kashmiris should be treated with love and respect,” he said.

The Governor also said that his government ended the Roshni Act, which aimed to regularise state land that was encroached by people, in Jammu and Kashmir. “It has proved to be a 25,000-crore scam. The case has been given to Anti-Corruption Bureau for investigation,” Malik said.
