"My wife was drugged resulting in sudden death": Kanna Phaneendra

Hyderabad: Nearing two months after the untimely death of Nallapareddy Suharika, daughter in-law to Andhra Pradesh BJP President Kanna Lakshmi Narayana. Her husband Kanna Phaneendra has alleged that his wife (Suharika) was drugged leading to her sudden death.

On May 28th, Nallapareddy Suharika was found dead under mysterious conditions in Madhapur area of Hyderabad. Raidurgam police falling under Cyberabad comissionerate booked a case under suspicious death and the investigation is on. Weeks later on 24th July, Kanna Phaneendra raised the flag against Suharika's family members to be the cause of her death.

In a complaint copy submitted to the Cyberabad Police, the 38 year-old man has alleged murder. Narrating the sequence of events that took place before the death of Suharika, he said, " At about 7 AM 28th May, Suharika informed me that her brother-in-law Praveen Garlapati (husband of Niharika Nallapareddy) has been repeatedly calling her to meet him and one Vivek Rao. She left home in her car MH 01 BS 6969 without specifying the exact location. Around 1. 13 PM, I received a call from Praveen informing me that Suharika was serious and has been admitted to AIG hospital, Gachibowli. Meanwhile I also received a message from Praveen stating ' They are dating doubt'" .

He later adds, " Dr Arun who had attended to my wife informed me that she was brought dead and her body was cold and in rigor mortis stage. The doctor informed me that Suharika died 2-3 hours before she was brought to the hospital". Kanna Phaneendra informed the Cyberabad police that his wife consumed MDMA drug, as told by Praveen to the AIG doctors.

"I noticed the medical staff cleaning blood from Suharika's face. While I was engaged with the final formalities at the hospital, Vivek came up to me and informed that Praveen is the cause of Suharika's death, inspite of Vivek asking praveen not to do, he overdosed Suharika with drugs. Praveen immediately rushed to me and hijacked vivek from the scene. On enquiry Praveen informed me that vivek, pavan, Vivas were smoking weed on the balcony and they saw Suharika falling in the hall" he said.

According to Kanna, Suharika's mother Nallapareddy Malli Sagarika, requested him not to report the incident.

Responding to the complaint, Cyberabad Commissioner V C Sajjanar said, " The husband's statement will be recorded and further action will be taken based on the scientific opinion. A case has been registered post the death and the investigation is on.
