Vijayawada: In a new twist to the ongoing protests by farmers from Amaravati, support came to them from unexpected quarters and one that was quite sentimental.

Providing the emotional touch was Ms Nara Bhuvaneswari, wife of TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu. Extending her solidarity to the movement against the proposal to shift the Capital city to Visakhapatnam, she donated her golden bangle to the farmers and urged them to continue the stir.

She was in town along with her husband Naidu, whose party is spearheading the agitation. Stating that Naidu was committed for Capital Amaravati and the farmers of Capital region, Bhuvaneswari told the farmers that Naidu would utter Polavaram and Amaravati, even during lunch and dinner time.

Naidu said that YS Rajsekhar Reddy used to respect him, whereas his son Jagan Mohan Reddy is instigating his colleagues to assault TDP men. Naidu also questioned the DGP as to who gave powers to the police to prevent Pawan Kalyan from touring the Capital villages.

“It is unfortunate that farmers are not allowed to move in their native villages, as police are registering attempt to murder and theft cases against them”, Naidu observed.
