Nellore-based student Dheeraj Reddy shot in US

Vijayawada: A Telugu student suffered bullet injuries in a shooting at St Louis, USA on April 9. The injured person has been identified as Dega Dheeraj Kumar Reddy, a native of Madamanuru village under Manabolu Mandal in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.
Dheeraj is pursuing MS in St Louis University in US.
Sources said that Dheeraj suffered the gunshot on his way from a gas station at Maryland Heights, St Louis on April 9, in the morning. As per sources, a group of people had opened fire on Dheeraj and fled from the spot.
The bullet entered his body from the left side of the abdomen and ended up on the right side, damaging the intestine and liver. Dheeraj was admitted to a hospital in US and is currently on ventilator.
One of Dheeraj's friends said that, "Dheeraj is still to undergo multiple surgeries and the bullet is yet to be removed. But on the positive side, his heart rate and blood pressure is better and hoping for recovery."
Dheeraj's friends and few other Telugu people in US have come forward to support the injured Dheeraj.
Meanwhile, the US police have began investigation to nab the culprits.
