Nellore rural MLA Kotamreddy attacks woman MPDO house

Nellore: In what could be termed as an embarrassment to the YSRC government, a lady Mandal Parishad Developmental Officer (MPDO) Sarala in Nellore District resorted to protest in front of Nellore rural police station on Friday night. She alleged that the rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy had attacked her home, for not sanctioning a pipeline to a layout.

Sarala told the media that there was no SI or CI rank officer in the rural police station when she came there to file a complaint on Sridhar Reddy. She resorted to sitting on protest under a tree outside the police station, till police officers came there.

As per the statement of MPDO, the rural MLA has asked her to issue necessary permissions to arrange water pipelines in a layout. The layout Venkatachalam is in It belongs to one Krishna Reddy, a follower of the YSRC Party. The MLA instructed her to grant permission by October 2.

Sarala told me that she could not complete the as she was busy in the inauguration works of Village Secretariats. "Sridhar Reddy called me on Friday and abused me for not completing the work. He came with his followers to my house at Kalluripalli in the evening and cut electricity connection, cable wires and damaged the pipelines. My mother was there alone, and she was terrified of the incident. I need police protection for my family," She complained to the police.

The police filed a case on MLA and his followers on Saturday.

Meanwhile, TD President Chandrababu Naidu came down on YSRC for attacking MPDO. He took to Twitter to lambast the ruling party. 'The police were hesitant to take even the complaint of the Officer. Is there any police system in the state?' he questioned on Twitter. He blamed Chief Minister Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy for his unresponsiveness when the ruling party MLA harasses a lady officer.
