Hyderabad: The Chandrayangutta Police on 25 July booked a case against a person on charges of cheating people by allegedly collecting money in the guise of raising money for the poor and the medically ill.

According to the police, the accused, Salman khan, who has a Facebook page in the name of Hyderabad Youth Courage posted videos requesting people to donate money for poor and medically ill persons. Once the funds were raised he allegedly never forwarded the same for their medical treatment but kept it for himself. We have received many such complaints, said the police.

“We received a complaint that a person named Salman Khan from Salala, Barkas had requested people on social media by showing the plight of a patient named Yasmeen Sultana. Salman said that that Yasmeen was undergoing treatment of the brain and gave a bank account number belonging to an Asra Begum for donations. On 20 July he posted that he himself had contributed Rs 59,700 into the account. Later, once more funds were collected, he transferred Rs 15,00,000 in that account to accounts under his name and one Ahmed Mohiuddin. The case is under investigation,” added SI Govardhan Reddy of the Chandrayangutta police station. Salman Khan was booked under sections 406, 420 r/w 34 of the IPC.

After this surfaced, Salman Khan posted multiple videos on his Facebook page saying that he is innocent and all he wanted to do was help four girls who had lost their mother recently.
