Hyderabad: A nine-month-old baby and her parents were tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.
They are the primary contacts of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC ) sanitation worker and her husband who were tested positive for the virus three days ago at Jillelaguda in Meerpet.
The trio was residing with the GHMC sanitation worker and her husband. The woman is working as a nurse at a private hospital, while her husband is a driver.
They were shifted to the isolation ward at Gandhi hospital. Authorities have declared Sirla Hills residential area and neighboring Prashanthi Hills as containment zones.
However, the source of infection is yet to be known. It is suspected that the woman working at the private hospital could have contracted the virus and infected her husband.
Since they are relatively younger, they were asymptomatic. Their parents, who are 48 and 52 years old, were also tested positive.
Their son and daughter in law along with their newborn son were sent to quarantine and their tests came back positive.
On Thursday Telangana recorded 47 cases, of which 40 cases are in GHMC limits and five are from the Ranga Reddy district. Two workers who returned from Maharashtra have also tested positive.
