Nirbhaya's mother welcomes the encounter of Disha's accused

Hyderabad: Asha Devi, Nirbhaya's mother, welcomed the encounter of all four accused in rape & murder of Hyderabad veterinarian Disha (name changed). Reacting to the encounter, she told a news agency, "I am extremely happy with this punishment. Police has done a great job & I demand that no action should be taken against the police personnel."

Condemning the rape and murder of the veterinarian, Asha Devi had earlier urged the authorities for quick delivery of justice in Disha case. "Unlike us, who had to fight for seven years, she should get justice soon. The administration should reflect on why such incidents re-occur. The accused persons in both the rape cases should be hanged to death," Asha had said.

Cyberabad police in the wee hours of Friday shot dead Veterinarian doctor Disha's rapists at the crime scene where her charred body was found. The four accused rapists were taken to the crime scene near Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad.

In the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, they were taken to ORR toll plaza for crime scene reconstruction. They were shot dead at the spot when they tried to escape.

The Cyberabad police had arrested the four accused on November 29 in connection with their involvement in the rape and murder case.

The accused were identified as Mohammad Areef, Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen, and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu.
