Nizam college lecturer found dead at home in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A lecturer working at Nizam College in Hyderabad was found dead under suspicious conditions at his home in Saroornagar in the city. The victim has been identified as K Venkataiah.

According to police, 54-year old Venkataiah was residing in a rented house at Karmanghat of Saroornagar police station in the city and is working at Nizam College near Abids.

He had moved into this house a few years ago and has been residing alone since then. Every morning, he meets his house owner, Bose, who lives in the adjoining portion. However, he was not seen outside since Sunday. Bose thought Venkataiah was away from home. Bose became suspicious when Wednesday came, and he had yet to see Venkataiah. He then went to check Venkataiah's house and found that it was locked from inside. He further noticed a foul odour emanating from inside. He called for Venkataiah repeatedly, but there was no response. With the help of some neighbours, he broke open the door and found Nizam College lecturer Venkataiah found dead on the floor.

They immediately called the police, and the body was shifted for a postmortem examination. It is suspected that he could have died of health complications. A case of suspicious death has been registered and based on the post mortem report the cause of death will be known soon, said police officials. Grief struck the staff after the news of Nizam College Lecturer found dead has spread.
