Odisha and Chattisgarh to face Flood like situation  on Aug 7, 8

The state of Odisha and Chattisgarh are likely to face flood-like situation on August 7 and 8, as the earlier forecast has predicted heavy-to-very -heavy rainfall for the two states.

The depression over the North Bay of Bengal and North coast of odisha is triggering rains, the intense moisture present in the atmosphere is the cause. According to Skymet – an independent weather observing body , the depression will intensify into a deep depression soon. “Due to its influence, heavy to very heavy rains are expected over some part of southern districts of Odisha, south Chhattisgarh leading to the flood-like situation, starting from today” said Chief Meteorologist- Mr. Mahesh Palawat – Skymet .

This predicted weather system will move inland into the west direction in both states . The intensity of rain will start decreasing in Odisha but many parts of Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Southern districts of Madhya Pradesh will get flooding rains on August 7 and 8, the forecast said.

The affect of the heavy rains will be witnessed in western part of Madhya Pradesh, south-east Rajasthan and Gujarat. The forecast for the Western belt is , between August 8 to August 10, heavy to very heavy rains to lash many parts of Gujarat. Kutch region will be the most affected, particularly Sabarkantha, Banaskantha, Mehsana, Patan and Himatnagar.
