Old woman’s body found wrapped in cloth at Banjara Hills

Hyderabad: A body of an unidentified woman was found wrapped in a cloth and tied with a rope on the footpath near Road No. 2, Banjara Hills, opposite Lumbini Jewel Mall on Sunday. The body was abandoned by some unidentified persons.

Pedestrians and passersby were frightened on seeing the body wrapped in cloth. The police said that the body is yet to be identified but the locals said that they used to see her begging at the TV9 office.

"No injuries were found on her body and we suspect she could have been a Covid patient. We received the message around 2 pm and suspect that the body must have been dumped here around 1.30 pm. We are checking the CCTV footage regarding the same," added N. Kalinga Rao, SHO.

The strangest part of the incident is if the body was of a destitute, then why was it wrapped in a cloth and left on the footpath. The woman seemed to be aged between 65-70 years. The body was sent to the mortuary for post-mortem and the case is being investigated, said the police.
