On the day of Women safety meeting, team rushes in 4 min of dialing 100

Hyderabad: A teenager, who was recording a woman taking a bath, has been nabbed in Banjara Hills in Hyderabad on Wednesday. He was caught in four minutes after the woman noticed him and called Dial 100. The boy, identified as Yousuf Farooq, was handed over to Banjara Hills police station for further inquiry.

Several women are residing in a rented flat at Banjara Hills. On Wednesday morning, one of them was taking a bath in the attached bathroom. During this, she noticed suspicious activity near the ventilator and later found someone recording her movements with a mobile phone.

On noticing the miscreant, she called up Dial 100 and complained. Police teams immediately rushed to the spot and caught him red-handed. He resides in the neighbouring apartment.

Banjara Hills police registered a case against him, seized his mobile and sent him to judicial remand.

TS Govt reviews security for women

In the wake of Disha’s incident and to boost the confidence of women and children in Telangana, the State Government convened a high-level meeting to deliberate upon ‘Women safety-State Government policies- the role of different government agencies.’

It was chaired by Home Minister Mahmood Ali.

Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Satyavathi Rathod, DGP M Mahendar Reddy, Principal Secretary Women & Child Welfare Jagadeeswar, Education Secretary Dr B. Janardhan Reddy, Additional DGs, police commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda and Warangal commissionerates, IG Women Safety Swati Lakra, top bureaucrats and senior police officials attended the meeting.

The meeting is aimed at increasing coordination between various departments in implementing women safety measures and acting in emergency situations and to prevent further incidents.
