Open the door read a note, family of four commits suicide in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Four members of a family committed suicide in Hyderabad's Meerpet over alleged financial burdens and health issues. The four have been identified as Harish, a techie, his mother Suvarna Bai, and his siblings Girish and Swapna.

The LB Nagar DCP, Sunpreet Singh, said a suicide note had been recovered from their apartment which indicated financial issues. "However, we are probing all angles,” he added.

According to the Meerpet police, the family is from Dornala village under Dharur mandal in Vikarabad district. They were living on the fifth floor of Sai Teja Heights in the BSR colony. On Wednesday evening, one of the residents came to their floor and found a note written in Telugu on the door of their apartment. The note read “please open this door.”

Suspecting something was wrong, the resident alerted others and the police who rushed to the spot and broke open the door. When they entered the apartment,Suvarna Bai, Girish and Swapna suspected to have consumed poison and were found lying in the front room, while Harish was found hanging in the bedroom.

The Meerpet police have registered a case of suspicious death and started an investigation.
