Over 27,000 candidates appear for TS EAMCET

Hyderabad: Over 27,000 candidates appeared for TS EAMCET held on 9 September. Of the 35,714 candidates who had applied for the examination, 27,689 or 77.52 per cent appeared for the same.

TS EAMCET was conducted in two sessions – one from 9 a.m. to noon and the other from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m – on Wednesday.

Nalgonda saw 93.28 per cent, the highest number of candidates appeared for the exam, while the lowest, 59.85 per cent, was in Tirupati. The number of candidates who appeared for the morning session of the exam in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh was 13,780 - 77.29 per cent of the 17,829 who had registered.

Of the 13,780 candidates, 7,415 were from Telangana (86.20%) while 6,365 (69.98%) were from Andhra Pradesh. A total of 8,602 candidates had registered for the morning session in Telangana while 9,227 had registered in AP.

Meanwhile, a total of 13,909 candidates, i.e. 77.76 per cent of the 17,885 registered candidates, appeared for the afternoon session in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Of these, 7,140 (84.98%) were from Telangana and 6,769 (71.37%) from Andhra Pradesh. A total of 8,401 candidates had registered for the morning session in Telangana while in Andhra Pradesh 9,484 had registered.

TS EAMCET 2020 was conducted by JNTU Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education for admission into various professional courses offered by various universities and private colleges in Telangana for the academic year 2020-2021.
