OYO Hospitality executive commits suicide in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 25-year-old woman working with OYO hospitality chain in Hyderabad, allegedly committed suicide at Kondapur in the city. The decease Monika rao was found hanging to the ceiling fan in their flat.

According to police, Monika Rao who hails from Haryana moved to Hyderabad in 2015 for higher studies. After completion of her studies, Ms. Rao started working for a private firm. A year ago, she joined OYO hotel chain as a marketing executive.

According to Cops, she moved into the flat at Rajarajeswari nagar at Kondapur falling under Gachibowli police limits. She was sharing the flat with Suguna and Punitha.

On Monday night around 10.30, Monika’s friend Rehan came to meet her at her flat in Gachibowli. The door remained locked from inside and there was no response on Monika’s phone, Rehan then called up her flatmate Punitha. The duo broke open the door and found Monika hanging.

Monika’s friends rushed her to a private hospital, where she was declared brought dead, the police informed.Police Inquiries revealed that she had committed suicide. When contacted her family members at Haryana, they latter were shocked.

Her two flatmates and her friend were also clueless, police said. It is suspected that she took the extreme step due to personal issues. As she did not leave a suicide note, police are probing into other angles and also verifying her call data records. Further they are also verifying CCTV cameras near the flat, to check if any strangers had come to meet her before the incident.
