Panic grips Secunderabad railway station after bomb hoax

Hyderabad: Panic gripped the Secunderabad railway station after a miscreant called up police informing about the bomb in the Vijayawada bound Intercity super fast express on Thursday morning.

Soon after receiving the call, bomb disposal squads along with sniffer dogs, units from Railway police and Hyderabad city police immediately rushed to the spot and started sanitizing the train.

After thoroughly checking the baggage, compartments and toilets, it was concluded that there was no bomb in the train. After security clearance and two hour delay, the train was finally allowed to depart.

The miscreant , who had made the hoax call on Dial 100, was later identified as Uday Kiran. Railway police have registered a case and massive hunt has been launched to nab the caller.
