Hyderabad: Passengers travelling in a hired cab had a narrow escape when their vehicle caught fire on Monday midnight at Banjara hills. Though the passengers escaped, the vehicle was badly damaged.

The vehicle TE 0UB 6903, was travelling towards Jubilee Hills. While passing through Road no.10 at Banjara hills near South Indian Bank, smoke started rising from the vehicle. The driver noticed the smoke, pulled the vehicle over to the roadside and ordered all the passengers to exit the car.

Minutes later, as they watched, the smoke developed into a fire and engulfed the entire car. Meanwhile, fire teams from Jubilee hills rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
