Pet dog of Meridian breed stolen from Yellareddyguda

Hyderabad: In a strange incident, a Meridian breed pet was stolen from Yellareddyguda of Hyderabad on January 11. The owner of the pet Saikrishna lodged a complaint with SR Nagar police. Police has registered a case and started investigation.

According to the police, Saikrishna, who works for a private firm, resides at Yellareddyguda along with his family. They own a Meridian breed pet for the past couple of years. On Saturday, he had tied the pet in the verandah of their house. Later in the evening, they let it loose to play. While playing, the dog suddenly went missing. Later, they found out that the pet was stolen from the area.

Police suspect that dog lovers or persons known to the family are behind the incident. They are verifying CCTV cameras in the area. It may be noted that during the past few weeks, several complaints of pet dogs, goats and other pets being stolen from their houses have been lodged at SR Nagar police station. Many such complaints have been lodged from Yellareddyguda. Police are looking into the angle that some miscreants are wantedly stealing pets to create a fear among the residents.
