Poison bottle not found in Maruti Rao’s room

Hyderabad, March 9: At least four special teams are working on the alleged suicide case of Tirunagari Maruti Rao as part of a probe from all angles.

Senior officials of Hyderabad police are closely monitoring the investigation. As Maruti Rao is the prime accused in the alleged brutal murder of his son-in-law Perumalla Pranay, police are looking into the minutest detail connected to the case. They have already questioned his driver Rajesh, who accompanied him to the city on Saturday and recorded his statement. They are also likely to question employees of Arya Vysya Bhavan, where his body was found.

Meanwhile, they are still clueless about the poison bottle, from which he allegedly mixed the contents with his snacks. This assumes significance as forensic experts have asserted that he died after consuming poison. However, the investigators could not find any bottle in the room, which has since been sealed.

The team of forensic experts who conducted post mortem examination on Maruti Rao’s body at Osmania mortuary on Sunday, had found that there are no external injuries on his body. They opined that Maruti Rao died of poisoning. According to doctors the poison could have spread to all organs of the body, leading to disruption in blood supply to the body and vital organs. As a result, he might have brain dead and suffered a cardiac arrest.

Further viscera samples from his body were preserved and sent for forensic analysis, which will reveal the type of poison he consumed. A detailed postmortem report will reveal more details behind the alleged suicide.

The forensic reports about Maruthi Rao's call data records from his mobile are also awaited.
