Police deny permission for Nara Lokesh Bike Rally in Narsipatnam

Visakhapatnam: In a major embarrassment to the TDP in Vizag district, the Narsipatnam police have denied permission for a bike rally by TDP leaders led by former minister and TDP National Secretary Nara Lokesh on the occasion of birthday celebrations for TDP leader Ayyanna Patrudu in Narsipatnam on Wednesday. Nara Lokesh arrived at Narsipatnam on Wednesday morning to participate in the birthday celebration of Ayanna.

The Narsipatnam police issued notices to Ayyanna Patrudu on Tuesday night denying permission for the bike rally of the TDP, citing that all the TDP leaders and activists who would be participating in the bike rally will have to wear helmets, and they received information that most were reluctant and some even planned to ignore the helmet rule. The police also said that as per Section 129 of the Indian Motor Vehicle Act, all two-wheeler riders must use protective head-guards.

Expressing anguish over the denied permission for the bike rally, Nara Lokesh and Ch Ayyanna Patrudu entered into a heated argument with the police. Criticising the police, Ayyanna said that police under the thump of YSR Congress government is trying to harass the TDP and register cases against the TDP activists. As cops denied permission for the bike rally, the TDP activists had a rally in Narsipatnam Town marking Ayyanna’s birthday celebrations.

However, on the other end, Ch Ayyanna Patrudu’s Brother Ch Sanyasi Patrudu resigned from the TDP and joined the YSR Congress Party on Wednesday. Political analysts said that Sanyasi Patrudu’s decision is a big hit to the TDP in Narsipatnam and the TDP will lose its charge in Narsipatnam in the coming days.
