Prabhas fans make masks with Radhe Shyam poster, distribute to poor

Hyderabad: Members of the All India Prabhas Fans Association and Prabhas Rakshita Foundation came together to create face masks as a token of love to the Telugu film star Prabhas (Uppalapati Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju).

The president of AIPFA, Govind Raju, along with Hyderabad Prabhas Fans Association president Chekram, decided to ready the masks when the first look of Prabhas' new film, Radhe Shyam, was released by July 10.

"We placed order for 1,000 masks immediately after the thought came to our mind," said Mr Govind, adding that the money for the masks was pooled in by the members themselves. He has been running the organisation for 35 years. While the Association was initially dedicated to Telugu superstar of the 80s, Krishnam Raju, it soon renamed itself after the latter's nephew entered Telugu cinema.

The team further decided not to sell but rather distribute these masks to people who cannot afford them. Since the day masks came to our hand, the team said they had distributed 600 masks to people in Secunderabad and adjoining areas free of cost. The remaining 400 are yet to be distributed.

"The masks are not aimed at gaining publicity for the film but only to ensure that his fans keep the superstar in their minds during the crisis induced by the pandemic,” he said.

Mr Govind added that he wanted to remind people to stay home and stay safe by offering these masks as a token.
