Indian actress Priyanka Chopra who made her mark in Hollywood and later married singer Nick Jonas has found herself in the midst of a controversy when speaking to an audience at the Beautycon event in Los Angeles.

During a public interaction, a Pakistani woman targeted Priyanka Chopra and called her a hypocrite. The lady accused Priyanka of tweeting in the favour of the Indian Army in February, when conflict between India and Pakistan was at its peak.

“You tweeted on February 26, Jai Hind Indian Armed Forces. You are encouraging nuclear war against Pakistan, while you serve at UNICEF,” the lady said while calling Priyanka Chopra a hypocrite.

Priyanka Chopra defended herself by saying that she is ‘patriotic.’ Responding to the lady, Priyanka said, “War is not something I am fond of but, I am patriotic. I have many friends from Pakistan. So, I’m sorry if I hurt the sentiments of people who do love me and have loved me, but I think that all of us have a sort of middle ground that we all have to walk, just like you probably do as well.”

Priyanka also told the lady, “Girl, don’t yell. We’re all here for love. Don’t yell. Don’t embarrass yourself.” The lady who confronted Priyanka Chopra accused Priyanka saying that she tried to gaslight her under those circumstances.
