Psychopath kills Vizag native with sticks near Secunderabad railway station

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, an alleged psychopath went on a rampage at Secunderabad, attacking commuters passing on the road. One of the persons, who was severely injured in the attack, succumbed later at Gandhi hospital. Police detained the alleged psychopath R Rajender.

According to sources, the incident happened near the busy St Theresa statue junction in Secunderabad. Rajender hailing from Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu and working as a lorry driver was moving around suspiciously carrying sticks in his hands. After some time, he started attacking passersby. While many managed to escape, a few of them received injuries in the attack.

One of them was Mallepally Ravinder Reddy, a native of Vishakhapatnam, who had come to the city on some personal work. While he was walking towards Secunderabad railway station, Rajender targeted him. Even before Ravinder could realise and escape, Rajender rained blows with sticks. As a result, Ravinder was severely injured and collapsed on the road. Passersby noticed this and alerted police and ambulance. Police rushed to the spot and detained Rajender, while Ravinder was shifted to Gandhi hospital.

However, after 30 minutes, Ravinder Reddy succumbed to injuries. Gopalapuram police registered a murder case against Rajender and started investigation.

They also started the process of tracing Ravinder’s family members or relatives if they were residing in Hyderabad.
